2008 IFE Leadership Award

IFE held its 2008 Ambassadors Cup golf outing at Congressional Country Club’s Blue Course on October 18. All funds raised were dedicated to our IFE Fellows Program.

These Student Leaders for Global Understanding are selected from local public and private high schools for an 18-month program in which they learn social entrepreneurship skills. The Fellows meet with experts to design sustainable solutions for social or environmental problems. Fellows then implement the solutions in their communities. The Class of 2008/09 is made up of 30 sophomores and juniors. They are outstanding kids, eager to develop leadership skills and make a difference.

For the 2008 Ambassadors Cup, players included:

  • Tom Korologos, former US Ambassador to Belgium
  • Ann Korologos, former US Secretary of Labor
  • Dominique Struye de Swielande, Belgian Ambassador to the US

  • Ronit Ziswiler made the putt of the day, a 60-footer on the undulating 9th green for par.
  • Ambassador Tom Korologos was the steadiest driver and putter. He hit almost every fairway and parred both the 16th and 17th holes thanks to excellent long putts (each from about 30 feet).
