January 7, 2018: Institute for Education held its 4th annual west coast Innovation Brunch at the home of PIF John Trobough. Hosts Todd Park and IFE Innovation Steward Dr. Amy Geng were thrilled to welcome Denmark’s Tech Ambassador Casper Klynge. By invitation only.


January 18, 2018: IFE hosted “The Art of Subtle Schmoozing: Secrets from a Diplomat’s Diary.” The salon,  for Round 5 PIFs, will share the how-to of soft diplomacy, taught by a true expert, Mrs. Gouri Mirpuri of the Singapore Embassy at the residence.


January 28, 2018: IFE Young Global Leaders’ Black Tie Dinner


January 29, 2018: IFE held its annual INFO Kick-off Lunch with special guest Demetri Sevastopulo, Financial Times’ Washington Bureau Chief.


February 7, 2018: IFE INFO featured White House Chiefs of Staff, The Honorable Joshua Bolten, and The Honorable Denis McDonough. The conversation was moderated by Andrea Mitchell, NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent.  H.E. Dirk Wouters, Ambassador of Belgium to the US held the Salon at his residence.


February 27, 2018: IFE hosted an exclusive dinner with Ambassador Daniel Mulhall of Ireland at the residence to celebrate Ireland’s rich historical and contemporary links with the United States.


March 7, 2018: IFE’s MTR Roundtable hosted James Astill, Lexington Columnist of The Economist. The intimate dinner was hosted at the residence of  H.E. Hamdullah Mohib, Ambassador of Afghanistan, and his wife Lael Mohib.


March 29, 2018: IFE Young Professionals Dinner at The Cottage. Hosted by Coach Kathy Kemper to celebrate the successes and membership of  IFE’s young professionals.


April 11, 2018:  Coach Kathy Kemper participated as a member of the Robotics Day panel at USC’s Viterbi School Robotics Day Fair.


May 1, 2018: IFE’s Media & Technology Roundtable (MTR) hosted special guest Craig Gordon, Washington Bureau Chief of Bloomberg News to discuss “Donald Trump and the Fourth Estate”. The dinner was held by H.E. Henne Schuwer, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, at the residence. By invitation only.


May 7, 2018: IFE’s INFO Public Policy Salon hosted FCC Chairman Ajit Pai. H.E. Gerard Araud hosted the dinner at the French residence. During dinner conversations were led by thought leaders Jerry Seib, Wall Street Journal; Jennifer Griffin, FOXNews; Abderrahim Foukara, Al Jazeera; and Juliet Eilperin, The Washington Post.


May 22, 2018: IFE hosted a Tech in Gov event with former Director of the CIA and NSA General Michael Hayden and the Honorable Will Hurd, U.S. Representative for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District on ‘Smart Security.’ The conversation was led by Kyra Phillips of ABC News and was hosted by H.E. Grigor Hovhannissian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia.


June 19, 2018: IFE’s MTR hosted special guests The Honorable Grace Koh, former Special Assistant to the President for Technology, Telecom, and Cyber-Security Policy at the National Economic Council, and her successor The Honorable Gail Slater. The evening was hosted by H.E. Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden at the residence. 


July 10, 2018: Conversation with David Litt, Author of Thanks, Obama: My Hopey, Changey White House Years (A New York Times bestseller and an Esquire Best Book of 2017) at The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Yochi Dreazen, Deputy Managing Editor of foreign coverage for Vox, moderated the conversation. David Litt was a special assistant to the president and senior presidential speechwriter from 2011-2016. By invitation only.


August 5, 2018: IFE Innovation Steward Dr. Amy Geng, Todd Park, Matt Cutts, and Coach Kathy Kemper celebrated the technology in government movement at the Institute for Education’s 5th annual Innovation Cookout!


August 19, 2018: IFE hosted Team Celebration and welcomed our new cohort of Fellows and our two IFE Fellows who just got married.


August 29, 2018: IFE  celebrated its Third Annual Social Secretaries Lunch honoring the hard work of our diplomatic communities gate keepers with co-host Rosemarie Pauli, former Acting Chief of Protocol.  The United States Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Lawler, was our special guest. The lunch was be held on The Great Lawn at the historic Congressional Country Club.


September 19, 2018: IFE Women in Power hosted Shannon Bream, Anchor of FoxNews@Night. The lunch was held at Café Milano.


October 17, 2018: The National Digital Roundtable hosted “Fighting False News: Strategies to Combat Digital Misinformation.”  IFE is a partner on the National Digital Roundtable.  The event was held at the Newseum in Washington, DC.


November 19, 2018: IFE hosted an Innovation dinner with Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The dinner was held at the residence of the Australian DCM Ambassador Katrina Cooper.


November 22, 2018: IFE founders Coach Kathy Kemper and Jim Valentine welcomed neighbors, IFE friends and families to their Fifth Annual kick-off the holiday season with champagne on Thanksgiving Day. By invitation only at The Cottage.


November 28, 2018: The Kemper Valentine Family Trust sponsored The William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award Dinner, in honor of the longtime friendship with IFE Steward Judge William WebsterWe are honored to support this important occasion and a great American.


December 6, 2018: IFE’s Tech in Gov hosted special guest Matt Lira, Special Assistant to the President for Innovation Policy and Initiatives White House Office of American Innovation.  The salon was hosted by H.E. Jonaton Vseviov, Ambassador of Estonia to the United States.
