-That was rapper (and sometime rival to 50 Cent) Fat Joe spotted at the Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Penn Quarter on Friday night, along with party promoter Kenny Burns, the self-described “lifestyle specialist.” On Thursday, actor Danny Glover grabbed lunch at Acadiana (Glover was in town to discuss the global food crisis).

Meanwhile, a couple of hip bands picked a couple of hip hotels this weekend. Radiohead hung its hats at the Hotel Palomar near Dupont Circle while in town for its Nissan Pavilion show. And Live stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown, as it played the Chili Cookoff this weekend. “The View’s” Barbara Walters stayed at the Four Seasons while in town late last week to promote her new book, “Audition.”

-It was an early Mother’s Day celebration at Nationals stadium Sunday. Spotted in the second row behind home plate: Judy Woodruff, Alan Greenspan, Andrea Mitchell, Al Hunt, Rick Davis (and family), Kathy Kemper, Jim Valentine and Sen. Max Baucus.

-Mayor Adrian Fenty’s just a regular guy. After grabbing breakfast at the Four Seasons on Thursday, Fenty took to the wheel and drove his white sport utility vehicle away.

-Spotted at Wednesday night’s premiere of the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s “Julius Caesar”: Italian Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta, Australian Ambassador Dennis Richardson, theater benefactors Sidney Harman and Rep. Jane Harman, D.C. Council members Jim Graham and Carol Schwartz, and noted Shakespearean actor Patrick Page.
