IFE’s LearnServe Egypt program celebrates Suzy Shoukry, wife of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt

The Institute for Education and Mercator XXI held a special lunch celebrating Suzy Shoukry, wife of H.E. Sameh Shoukry, for the embassy’s generous support of IFE’s LearnServe Egypt program.

At the lunch, Mercator XXI and IFE interns presented Mrs. Shoukry with a special rotating globe inscribed, “LearnServe Egypt, year 1.” The lunch also offered a chance for the IFE interns going on the trip to meet and speak with the distinguished guests including, Mary Kennedy, wife of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy; Rev. Dr. Ceceile Strommen of the Embassy of Norway; Eva Hofstrom of the Embassy of Sweden; Esther Coopersmith, Goodwill Ambassador to UNESCO; Marci Robinson, chairman of the Board of IFE Stewards; IFE Steward Ina Ginsburg; Anna Gawel of The Washington Diplomat; and Nadia Bilbassy-Charters of MBC TV among others.

The occasion, held Friday, January 28th, 2011, was timely with the activity in Egypt.
