IFE Leadership Dinner at The Cottage

On Wednesday, April 25th, members of the Institute for Education’s Leadership joined Ambassador Kirsti Kauppi of Finland, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and Chairman of the CEA Kevin Hassett for an intimate private dinner at IFE Founder & CEO Coach Kathy Kemper’s elegant residence.

Guests tasted an exquisite 1999 Chateau Lynch Bages, Pauillac from Bordeaux and dined on wild salmon, risotto, and mango sorbet to top it all off. The conversation among friends new and old got off to a lively start as Chairman Hassett, prompted by the wine’s vintage, asked everyone what they were doing back in 1999! IFE Steward Chris Caine was in a bunker with Russians working for IBM, Ambassador Kauppi was right here in DC working for the Finnish Embassy, and all the guests jovially recalled Y2K.

To close out the evening Coach Kemper invited guests including USDS Director Matt Cutts, Matt Lira (The White House), Kelsey Valentine (IFE Life Sciences Fellow) to IFE’s May 7th Salon with Chairman Pai at the French Residence — an event we are all looking forward to at Team IFE! Guests then toasted IFE Kelsey Valentine, who is off to the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University this fall to pursue her MBA.

SPOTTED: Dr. Janine Van Lancker, Max Dickinson, Vineet Singal, Kristie Hassett, Jim Valentine, and Dan Homan.
