The CS@SC Summer Camps celebrated its Fifth year this summer!

The CS@SC Summer Coding Camps celebrated its 5th year this summer, welcoming over 1,000 K12 students over five weeks!  The students are becoming leaders in the future of technology and innovation, and we are so excited to see what they will do in the future. The kids were taught by 30 USC Computer Science students who acted as mentors, role models, and coaches during the program. It’s amazing to see the CS@SC Summer Camps grow from 200 students the 1st year to over 1,000 the 5th year, giving a grand total of over 3,000 students we have taught in the past 5 years.

The average student paid less than $100 to attend the week-long camp thanks to the donations of our founding sponsor, the Institute for Education, and other 2019 sponsors, including the Rowland Unified School District (RUSD), Walkite International Academy, and the USC Computer Science department. RUSD sent 180 students to the camps completely free of charge for the students, and Walkite sent 200 students to the camps all the way from China! Our newly-expanded curriculum in 2019 included programming and robotics for kids from 5 to 17 years old.

Let’s continue to fight on!
