January 31, 2017: Open Government Reception held at the Colombian Residence. Hosted by H.E. Juan Carlos Pinzón with special guests Matt Lira  (Senior Advisor at the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy), Macon Phillips  (Former Digital Strategist to President Obama & Secretary Kerry), and Aneesh Chopra (Former U.S. Chief Technology Officer). March 6, 2017: IFE Women in Power hosted special guest Barrett Karr Chief of Staff for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23). The dinner was held at the residence of Her Excellency Hunaina Sultan Ahmed Al Mughairy of the Embassy of the Sultan of Oman. By invitation only.


On April 12th, His Excellency Kenichiro Sasae, Ambassador of Japan to the United States, welcomed global leaders, innovators in government and technology, and civic leaders to the Institute for Education’s 18th mayoral address. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Washington, DC’s mayor and representative on the international stage, addressed the crowd and provided an update on Washington, DC’s leadership among global cities.

April 25, 2017: The Institute for Education held the second Open Government Reception, graciously hosted by H.E. Geir H. Haarde at the Icelandic residence. Former Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer Cori Zarek was presented with the first-ever Institute for Education Open Government Award for her creation of the Open Government Partnership. Co-hosts included Matt Lira, Aneesh Chopra, Gerrit Lansing, Macon Phillips, and Rob Cook.


May 20, 2017: Todd Park, IFE Innovation Steward Dr. Amy Geng, and Coach Kemper will hold the Third Annual West Coast Presidential Innovation Fellows Reunion. Hosted by IFE Digital Ambassador Devika Patil and Dr. DJ Patil at their home. By invitation only.

August 31, 2017: IFE  celebrated its Second Annual Social Secretaries Lunch honoring the hard work on our diplomatic communities gate keepers. By invitation only.


September 1, 2017: Coach Kemper delivered the keynote address at the American Swimming Coaches Association World Clinic.


September 15, 2017: The Institute for Education partnered with the YPO Gold Chapters of Arizona and Florida to host  “42 Faith: The Rest of the Jackie Robinson Story” author Ed Henry (American broadcast journalist and the chief national correspondent for Fox News).  The evening INFO salon was graciously hosted at the Royal Thai residence by H.E. Pisan Manawapat, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States and Madame Wanchana Manawapat. By invitation only.


October 21, 2017: IFE Founder Coach Kathy Kemper and IFE Gov in Tech Steward Mary Anne Cook along with the Presidential Innovation Fellows Foundation welcomed the newest PIFs to Our Capital City with a Jeffersonian Dinner at The Cottage. By invitation only.


October 30, 2017: IFE’s Women in Power hosted special guest Emma King Doyle, Chief of Staff, OMB. The dinner was also hosted by H.E. Kirsti Kauppi, Ambassador of Finland to the United States at her residence. By invitation only.


November 23, 2017: Annual Holiday Kick-off & Champagne hosted by Coach Kathy Kemper and James Valentine at The Cottage. 12:30-2:00pm. By invitation only.


November 27, 2017: IFE’s “Global Connections Series” featured the Ambassador of Afghanistan, Dr. Hamdullah Mohib. The Ambassador was introduced by his wife Lael Mohib and interviewed by Josh Rogin, Columnist, Washington Post and Political Analyst, CNN. The evening salon was held at the Embassy. By invitation only.


December 3, 2017: IFE Founder Coach Kathy Kemper and IFE Gov in Tech Steward Mary Anne Cook hosted a dinner PIFs.


December 4, 2017: Denmark’s Tech Ambassador, Ambassador Casper Klynge – the first Tech Ambassador in the world. Ambassador Klynge was joined by former U.S. CTO Megan Smith and Special Assistant to the President Matt Lira in a panel moderated by POLITICO’s Nancy Scola. Hosted by Ambassador Lars Gert Lose at the Danish Embassy.


December 14,  2017: IFE’s hosted  Kevin HassettChair of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), who was joined Jerry Seib, Executive Washington Editor, The Wall Street Journal and Chief Commentator for a candid conversation. Former UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Esther Coopersmith hosted the Salon.
